Hello all,
I purchased an Amd 64 not so long ago, ... It came with a stock Fan,
It idled at around 50c and went near 70 at load,
So i bought a Zalman Flower Power CNPS7000B that fits my MotherBoard,
I have the 939 Socket, I took the backplate off my Av8 and attached the
Plate that came with the Zalman and followed the Instructions to the
Letter ... Fitted well etc but when i checked the Temps they were ...
About 52 idle and over 70 at load ... I were'nt happy of course lol so i
checked the cooler ... It was working fine so i switched the Pc off and
rechecked it, All i noticed which seemed strange was that the Heat sink
and fan could be moved very slightly Clockwise and AntiClockwise ...
Obviously not tight against the Cpu, I'm sure they generally are'nt too
tight against the Cpu as this would crush it i guess,
Heres a link to the Cooler ...
http://www.zalman.co.kr/eng/product/view.asp?idx=141&code=005 ,
Its tightened down as far as it can tighten and the picture quickly
shows the slight movement i get ... only about a couple of mm but
noticeble, Thermal paste helps this move aswell i guess,
Maybe my Temps are fine but seems a bit high for me ... Any
suggestions would really help,
The ventilation in my case ain't bad ... Hear about exhausts so maybe i
may invest in One ... I have 2 blowers at the back too and One at the Front,
The front is intake and the back blows out,
Take care,
John,
