just found a small metal ring about the size of a £2 coin. i'm sure i got it with my PSU, but whats it for? SOrry for sounding so dumb but its sunday night
It has always been around all the front connector cables on any case that I have ever bought, how necessary it is I'm not sure but there isn't any harm in it.
Normally it should be fitted at the bit where all the cables come out of the PSU, but if it's not already fitted then I'm not sure how you're going to get it on.
IIRC it's around the front panel connectors, not entirely sure how, but it's used to reduce EMI interferance. It could have come off when replacing the connectors or something...but it's not essential.
We might be thinking of different things here but I'm envisaging the small 'doughnut' shaped bit of metal that goes over the front connector cables to the motherboard, I'm not sure about anything that goes over the PSU cables directly.
yeah sounds about right, i think i remember seeing similar in old pc cases around the front connectors......do i just put the cables through the ring or in a special way?
