Having had the (mis?)fortune to be on the groundcrew for the Nimrod static display at Yeovilton last weekend, I took my spanky new D50 along, and took some pics. These are by far the best of a bad bunch, but I did put all the automatic settings off, and did it the old fashioned way.....

The Red Arrows. I couldn't have felt happier about this shot if I tried!

Dancing Lynxes

The "view from the office"

And finally, St Mary Magdalenes, Taunton

Again, any critique happily recieved. I want to get better....

good lord those 1st 2 are stunning. what tools were at your aid?

Nikon D50, and a Tamron AF70-300mm f/4-5.6 LD.

1st was at 300mm focal length. 1/3200s exposure, f6 and ISO 200.

2nd at 250mm, 1/1000s, f5.3 and ISO 200.

There are more almost that good, but I haven't had time to get them presentable yet..... ;)

How did you get the shot inside the nimrod? Was it down to sweet talking? Or is it literally your office?

EDIT: I've just your details. Thats a pretty cool job.
