Hehe yep check here:

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400 Dual Channel Titanium Alpha XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2TA8002GK) (MY-072-OC) - Price: £299.95 (£352.44 Including VAT at 17.5%)

OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-7200 Dual Channel EPP XTC Series DDR2 (OCZ2N9002GK) (MY-074-OC) Price: £199.95 (£234.94 Including VAT at 17.5%)

For whatever reason the new Titanium Alph XTC prices have been mucked up. The OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-8000 Dual Channel Titanium Alpha XTC Series is exactly the same price as the
OCZ 2GB (2 x 1GB) PC2-6400 Dual Channel Titanium Alpha XTC Series.

In other words are DDR2/AM2 systems bandwith limited unlike Socket 939 systems?

Nope it doesn't make a lot of difference, though AMD does like tight timings (well as tight as DDR2 can go) more than Conroe.

The high speed DDR2 is only really useful in clocking conroe at 1:1.
