is this ok for a first custom water cooled system

the components i have are
Asus A8N Sli deluxe
AMD x2 4400
Nvidia 7800gtx OC
i want to have 2 loops one for my cpu and one for my graphics and mobo (chipsets etc)

cpu loop

pump - AlphaCool Laing D5 Basic Pump 1/2 Inch Tube Fitting
Radiator - AlphaCool NexXxoS Xtreme II Radiator
waterblock cpu - Thermaltake CL-W0010 CPU Water Block
Reseviour - AlphaCool Cape Coolplex 25 external

Graphics and mobo Loop

Pump - AlphaCool Laing D5 Basic Pump 1/2 Inch Tube Fitting
Radiator - AlphaCool NexXxoS Xtreme II Radiator
waterblock chipset - AlphaCool Motherboard Heattrap and AlphaCool NexXxoS NB-SLI Motherboard Chipset
graphics - NexXxoS VGA Water Block -NVXP-3 6800/7800 and AlphaCool NexXxoS Mosfet Cooler Block
Reservoir - AlphaCool Cape Coolplex 25 external

all connections are 1/4" apart from the pump which is 1/2"

Any reason why you want 1/4"? You are sacrifising cooling potential.

there is no reason but 1/4" is the only connection type i could find. couldnt i have 1/2" hoses connecting to the waterblocks. would this increase cooling or not?

is ths better for my cpu loop then

pump - AlphaCool Laing D5 Basic Pump 1/2 Inch Tube Fitting
Radiator - DD XSPC R120-D X-Flow
waterblock cpu - DD TDX AM2
Reseviour - AlphaCool Cape Coolplex 25 external

all connections are now 1/2" apart from the Reseviour which is 1/4" soon to change (im still looking for a 1/2" Reseviour) do they do one? can some one give me a make or some idea of where to look

afaik the xtreme rad dosn't come with connections, just a 1/4 thread (which is standard with all alphacool products. You then buy a barb with a 1/4 thread to 1/2 barb.

Better to get a nexxos pro rad which is cheaper and less dense. You can then use lower cfm fans which means less noise and the cooling would be unaffected as iirc the xtreme is based on an older design.

Also for the cpu waterblock have you considered a nexxosXP solid block, there are plenty of reviews around who put this just short of the storm block and its a fraction f the cost.

waterblock cpu - Thermaltake CL-W0010 CPU Water Block
Reseviour - AlphaCool Cape Coolplex 25 external

Graphics and mobo Loop

Radiator - AlphaCool NexXxoS Xtreme II Radiator
waterblock chipset - AlphaCool Motherboard Heattrap and AlphaCool NexXxoS NB-SLI Motherboard Chipset
graphics - NexXxoS VGA Water Block -NVXP-3 6800/7800 and AlphaCool NexXxoS Mosfet Cooler Block
Reservoir - AlphaCool Cape Coolplex 25 external

all connections are 1/4" apart from the pump which is 1/2"

thats what i was thinking of and after reading what u have to say is this a better system

Cpu loop
pump - Laing Vario D5 Pump
Radiator - XSPC R120-D X-Flow
waterblock cpu - Maze4 A64 AMD
Reseviour - AlphaCool Cape Coolplex 25 external

Graphics and mobo
pump - Laing Vario D5 Pump
Radiator - XSPC R120-D X-Flow
waterblock chipset - NexXxos NB_SLI 1
Graphics - NVXP-3 6800/7800
Reservoir - AlphaCool Cape Coolplex 25 external

all connections are now 1/2" aprt from reservior which i will get a 1/2" barb that was suggested by w3bbo.

Also should I have two loops or just the one with the things I have. Will the one pump be up to it.

One loop would be fine but I wouldn't have two 120 rads as this will only add to restriction. Better to have a bigger rad imo. Just remember that the more blocks/rads you have the more restriction you will also have. Oh and there really is no need whatsoever to have two reservoirs.

pump - Laing Vario D5 Pump
Radiator - nexxos pro 240(for better performance go for the Thermochill PA 120.2)
waterblock cpu - Maze4 A64 AMD or nexxos xp
Reseviour - AlphaCool Cape Coolplex 25 external
waterblock chipset - NexXxos NB_SLI 1
Graphics - NVXP-3 6800/7800

Out of the products you chose thats what I would have 1 loop setup like.
