basically i want a cheapo CPU for nothing more than testing/as a backup just in case since i like to have spares. I also recall that the old PD cpus are dead cheap now so the ultra low end should be pennies

anyone know the cheapest CPU to go for? not too sure with intel tbh - have been AMD since i had a P2

a cheap socket 775 Celeron D should set you back around £35 if that...

just checked,
Intel Celeron D 326 2.53GHz on OcUK
Price: £25.95 (£30.49 Including VAT at 17.5%)

if you want to spend a little more (not that there's any reason to??)
Intel Pentium 4 524 "LGA775 Prescott" 3.06GHz
Price: £44.95 (£52.82 Including VAT at 17.5%)

ta mate. :D

is that 775 yeah? if so, lets take it to emails mate :)

nikebee, dont want to spend more, this is only for testing in case of a faulty mobo or CPU. i like having some redundancy just in case.
