I've got around £50 to spend on a set of 2.1 speakers. Can you help me find the very best one for around that price (v. tight budget, so it can't be too much over £50)?

Can't find enough for Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1 Speakers @ £82? It will be worth it if you can. If not maybe the JBL Creature II 2.1 Speakers for £55.

Nope, really got very little money at the moment, saving up for a TV, speakers, and Xbox 360 stuff, so £50ish is all I can spare. I'll take a look at the JBL ones though, £55 should be okay. :)

I've just been looking at a few on the 2.1 page that are in my price range, which of these are the best:

Altec Lansing VS2221 2.1 Speaker System - Retail - £31.67

Creative Inspire T3030 2.1 Speakers - Retail - £33.49

Creative I-Trigue 2.1 3400 Speakers - Retail - £55.17

JBL Creature II 2.1 Speakers - (Black) Retail - £55.17

Logitech Z-4 2.1 40 Watts Speakers - Retail - £52.82

X-Tensions Full Metal 2.1 Speaker System - £46.94

SpeedLink Powerstixx SL-8225 2.1 42W Speaker System - £58.69 I'll only go for these if they're an amazing deal...

I'd increase my budget, but I really have too much to buy, and it'll take me years to save up if I get the most expensive stuff - I'm still a teenager! :(

No personal experience with them, but the Logitech's are probably a good choice. I expect there will be more opinions soon though :)

I'd put a vote in for the creative i-trigues. I've got a set of the now discontinued 3200s and they're brilliant. I'm no audiophile though, but to the layman they sound great. I havent had a single friend/relative complain about the quality.

I just got the Logitech Z4's today, they are available in black or ipod white but I went for black.

Theres absolutely no distortion when the bass is turned all the way up, theres also a little wired remote that adjusts bass and volume, this also has headphone inputs which is handy.

The satellites are a lot bigger than I could tell by looking at pics on logitechs site, the rather excessive logitech branding on them looks rather naff however.

The satellites can be wall hanged, and the wires are quite extensive so you can place them on a shelf.
