Anybody got a Matsui PL-700 Portable DVD Player??

This may or may not work, it's for a similar model and Matsui produce a few models with this hack:

1) Close door (with no disc)
2) Using remote control press "setup" (the normal setup menu will appear)
3) Press "next" (button with >>| on it)
4) Press "previous" (button with |<< on it)
5) Press "next"
6) Press "previous"
7) The current region number should appear on the top right of the screen
8) Use the left and right buttons to scroll through and change code to your region of choice (region free is 255)
9) Press "setup"
10) Press "setup" again
11) Press "play" (your player should now be region free)

Allow about 1sec between buttone presses.

Thanks for the post Tesla but this does not work (found it myself on Videohelp.com).

Another angle of attack would be to find out an identical model from another manufacturer and search that.

Matsui don't make it, just brand it. There is Yukai which is usually the same. Also the supermarket brands do use Matsui stuff.

Digilogic
Etc..
