Will this hard drive

Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 10 NCQ 250GB 6V250F0 SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (HD-088-MD)

work with this mobo :

Asus M2N-E (Socket AM2) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard

I had heard of compatibility problems with maxtor DM10s and nvidia nforce chipsets. Was this just with NF4?

It should work and the problem can, I believe, be solved by a firmware update for the Maxtor anyway. You may also want to look at the Seagate 7200.10 drives as they have the new perpendicular writing technology which is supposed to be a fair bit faster.

Completely agree. Stay away from Maxtor. Just about every other manufacturer offer better HDDs and much better reliability.
