Im thinking of getting one of these and was just wondering could I use this lens as a "Walk about" lens? also have any of you guys used this lens if so what are your thoughts.

I have it and LOVE it.
Bargain price for the IQ you will get with it.
Cant praise it enough, would be even better if i had a 1.4 or 2.0 tele.

It is certainly one of the nicest zooms you can buy! The only thing I can see "wrong" with using a 1.4x TC is the loss of a stop - F/5.6 restricts your lighting conditions quite a lot without a tripod, and with a 2x TC its even worse plus you lose AF.

Yeah I do like it a lot, 1.4 has gotta be the way forward.
Sure someone else had a play with it that night was it yourself or Terras
