Video playback

I've just done a fresh format of my pc and reinstalled everything, but I've got one quite annoying problem. All my videos seem to play really dark. I've tried different codec packs, using vlc player etc and it all has the same result. Also when I tried to get a snapshot from vlc player to post here it came out fine and as it should.

Anyone any ideas? Using all latest drivers etc. Graphics card is an old AGP GF4 MX if that matters but it all worked fine before I formatted.

Turn up the brightness/Gamma on the Video Overlay..

Not sure where it is on the NVidia drivers as I have an ATI card, but it should be in the Video driver settings somewhere.

had had that prob with the latest nvidia drives. used the slightly older ones and prob went away.
