Laptop/Remote Control

Hi,

I've got a toshiba laptop with an infra red port, I've also got a Cambridge "all in one" learning remote control, is there any software out there that will allow me to use my remote control with my laptops infrared port just to carry out simple operations like playing music etc ?

There used to be a bit of software called Winlirc (spelling?) which allowed you to set keypresses to the infrared signals from a port.
Not sure if its still about or if it would work with your hardware but gotta be worth a google?

looks like its a no go with internal recivers
