The 7800GTX performs similarly to the x1800xt and the 7900gt(Watch out for the HUGE failure rate with the 7900gt though).

By far and away the best deal on 3d cards now is the x1800xt for £150 in this week only.

Which card are you thinking of getting?

If you're thinking about the 7800GTX then stop because the x1800xt really is the best deal I've seen for a long while on video cards, it'd be silly to choose anything different if you're budget is £200 or less.

Depends on who makes the 430w supply and what else you have running off the system but assuming it is a decent brand (Antec, Enermax, Tagan, FSP etc) and the basics to run a PC then yes it will work.

Seasonic is one of the best manufacturers of PSU's, that should run a pretty power hungry system and a x1800xt without problems.

Oh and if you're looking for an aftermarket cooler (The stock one isn't THAT bad) then look no further than the Zalman vf9000cu, silent and kick ass

Welcome to the forums. :)

x1800 XT is faster than the 7800 GTX 256mb, and is a cracking price at only £152, its also faster than the £40 more 7900 GT, but id be quick as the 'This Week Only' changes tomorrow as it runs from Thursday to Thursday. :)

Not compared to the X1800XT.. I own a 7800GTX btw and have one in this PC that I'm on right now and I've had an X1800XT. But the X1800XT 256MB is far far far far better value even if it does use 'slightly' more power and performs 'slightly' better. For the money the X1800XT is better.
