I used to have one of these, I sold it for £90 on a well-known auction site. They're practically X850 XTs or X850 XT PEs depending on how lucky you are.

About on-par with an X850 XT or X850 XT PE, so it's better than a 7600GT. :) It does lack Shader Model 3.0 support though, so keep this in mind if it's important to you.

general rule of thumb....

blue circuit = R430 GPU
red circuit = R480 GPU = same GPU as an X850XT/XTPE

i believe you paid abit too much for it though Milkybar but it will serve you well :)

Depends on how far it will overclock, they vary from board to board. Mine just managed a little over X850 XT PE clocks, some have gone much farther, and some just below.

As said by locutus12, it depends on the core, if you get one with an R480 core it should overclock nicely to X850 XT or X850 XT PE speeds easily. Since it's the Sapphire GTO² then you can rest assured it's an R480.

He is the guy who made the iso for the GTO2 flash.

3d mark is a program the you run on your pc & it gives you a score.

An X850XT should get at or above 6000 on 3d mark 05 (ther is also 2001SE, 2003 & 2006), depending on CPU. Its supposed to measure how well a grphics card performs, but your CPU & overall system does play a role in the mark too.

in april, if it was an original GTO2 batch (red PCB with power connector = R480 core) then between £90 and £110.

3D05 = 3Dmark 2005 is a graphical benchmark test, it is in fact the industry standard test that gets updated every so often, i.e. 3D06 is the current version but its better to test your card with 3Dmark05 which you can get for free from here:

http://majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=4376&file=13&evp=036bc5c6cb937e91965469dc8728ff80

Stock score for an unmodded unclocked GTO2 is around 4000 marks
modded GTO2 will score around 5200 marks
modded and clocked GTO2 will score around 6 thousand marks + if your very lucky you can hit 6800 marks, the same as an X1800GTO. true, it doesnt have pixel shader 3.0 ... but to be honest i havent noticed much of a blooming difference between my old GTO2 and my X1800XT 512mb... seems to be just abit quicker is all.

please note when you run the benchmark that you do not have to run the CPU benchmarks, only the first 3 graphical tests. and make sure you havent enabled your Anti Aliasing settings by default in catalyst control centre otherwise it will change your score, if you havent a clue what im on about, then chances are you havent :)

what is your current CPU and its speed ?

well your cpu if memory serves me correctly and if its a socket 939 is an AMD 3500 / 3700 possibly. or an opty 148.

http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-135.zip

download and run that, it will tell you everything you need to know about your cpu, ram and hopefully your motherboard too :) click on the tab at the top marked "About" then click the button at the bottom that says "HTML DUMP" then post that file here using www.yousendit.com :)
