Ok apart from the 925 having double the cache and faster FSB what are the major differences between these 2 chips please???

PENTIUM® 4 524
PENTIUM® D 925

Pentium D is duel core i believe. Reading the section on each in the catalogue would tell you

Yes the 524 is single core with a 533FSB and 1MB cache. The 925 has 2x2mb L2 cache 800FSB and is dual core. The FSB would offer a tremendous performance boost, the L2 cache is also 3x larger.
