I've just got a macbook with a 60Gb hard drive and i plan to upgrade it to a 100gb at some point, because of the lack of space. When i upgrade i am going to put the old 60gb in an enclosure and use it as an external HDD. Is it possible to copy everything on my 60gb to the 100gb so that i don't have to install all my apps again etc?

You can probably put the new drive in the enclosure, use carbon copy cloner (here) to clone the current drive to it (and make it bootable), then just switch them over and job done.
