Thing is, i have many many mp3's and if i do it manaully it will take ages.

The script post looks like its my best option as its all automated.

Tag and rename will do exactly the same - it can tag based on file name and folder structure. For example, mine are organised as follows:

Artist\Album\Track No - Track Name.mp3

It can take that and tag all your files.

and how do you run that script? save it in notepad as .bat?

.vbs I think. You may need windows script installing as well (get from windows update)

Make sure you run it on a backup first

Right, i've done it.

Used the script and now everything is ok..ish and sorted.

will make a guide on how to do it clearly if anyone is interested.

and btw, for other windows media player users, windows media player doesnt seem to see the tags for .ogg and .flac files? any ideas?

It doesn't, no. Not used it, but maybe something like this would help: http://wmptagext.sourceforge.net/
