Hi

I'm using a US-style keyboard, which I bought out here in China. There are no UK keyboards out here. I've had it since April, and I'm still not used to it. I am forever accidentally hitting the instert button.

There is no indication when Insert has been pressed (either on keyboard or on screen) and it overwrites text in absolutely every application, web browser, etc.

It is soo extremely annoying. Does anyone have a solution? (Apart from superglue-ing the button!). Actually, if anyone has a way of re-mapping the Insert button to the £ symbol, that would solve two of my problems!!

Cheers!!

Thanks - I actually looked at the link on that page (the 'more advanced' link) and it exlpained a simple registry hack.

http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/r1017256194

I created a new Binary value in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout, called 'Scancode Map' and entered the value :

0000 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 00
0008 02 00 00 00 0E 00 52 E0
0010 00 00 00 00

It's done the trick!

I just wish I could find the keycode for the £ sign - it's really annoying having to change the keyboard every time I want to insert that symbol!
