I haven't really had much interest in air cooling for a long time now so i have no idea which air coolers are considered the best thesdays. So my question is, which coolers are meant to be truly above and beyond all the rest?

Doesn't matter if it's a noisy or quiet solution, as long as its good!

*edit*

Narrowed it down to this lot, but there must be others

Akasa AK-920 EVO 120 Direct Heatpipe Copper with Fan Controller
Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler
Scythe Ninja Plus Heatpipe CPU Cooler
ThermalRight Ultra-120 (Socket 754/939/940/LGA775) Heatsink
Thermaltake Big Typhoon 4 in 1 Heatpipe (Socket 939/754/775/478)
Zalman CNPS9500-LED Aero Flower

Well google away but I suspect you'll come to same conclusion as me:

1) ThermalRight Ultra-120 (Socket 754/939/940/LGA775) Heatsink
2) Scythe Ninja Plus Heatpipe CPU Cooler
3) Thermaltake Big Typhoon 4 in 1 Heatpipe (Socket 939/754/775/478)
4) Zalman CNPS9500-LED Aero Flower
5) Akasa AK-920 EVO 120 Direct Heatpipe Copper with Fan Controller
6) Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro CPU Cooler

All are good but the Ultra-120 is the best...

Over there...
cant comment on much experience, but the best is apparently the Tuniq Tower 120, closely followed by the Scythe Ninja.

I installed a scythe ninja to my E6300 setup - and i have to say i'm massively impressed by it (or the E6300 running cool, not sure which!)
