Im stuck between buying a DS4 and 2 gig G.Skill 6400 HZ or
DS4 and 2 gig Geil 6400 Ultra Low

Anyone have any experiance with the combination, i know that the Gskill combination works well, but not too sure on spending that much money on RAM sicne im not going to overclock my E6300 past 2.4/2.5.

Anyone know is the Geil Ultra low works, because i know that the DS4 has issues with memory.

Thanks in Advance, Raj

Im running the DS4 and the geil 6400 now, achieved 3.2ghz so far with my 6300. Ram is at 4-4-4-12, 2.2v.

It boots at the DS4 boot voltage of 1.8v, but i put mine to 2.2v to start clocking.

Hope that helped. :)

I've got the HZ stuff and used it to get my 6300 to 3.4Ghz, so quite impressed with the stuff, The Geil is as good from what i've seen, so either would be ideal for you. :)

If im only planning on going to 2.4 is it best value to get the Geil as it seems to do just as well?

All over.
Ah right, I've got the F3 BIOS. Sounds like the beta BIOS is better stability wise. Do you know where I can download it?

I'm on 3.29GHz @ 470FSB. RAM @ 2.3V 4-4-4-12 is unstable. AT 5-5-5-15 @ 2.2V is stable.

Geil, Gskill is really iffy with the Gigabytes. Got 2 HZ and one ZX 2Gb sets, only one HZ set works fine, the other 2 matched pair ZX and HZ don't boot, and when set up with older DDR2 for higher volts and manual latency, don't run stably, they work fine in other boards. All Geil i tried, from Value to 6400 low latency work off the bat.

Yep, I can confirm they work.

Both myself and friend ordered the Geil 6400 whilst on the special last week, booted fine at 1.8v
Mine is now running 2.0v at 4-4-4-12 @ 400fsb

I also had 2gigs of OCZ value 5400 which would not boot at all.

What other settings are you using to get this to work?

My Geil booted directly from new build ok - Rock steady until I started to mess with the timings/speed to try and get it to work at specification.
If I change anything in the memory settings it fails to work. Even If I only change the voltage to +0.3v and nothing else it still fails to load windows.
It doesn't work at PC6400 speeds only SPD PC5300. Not even if I loosen the timings to 5-5-5-15 from 4-4-4-12.
Quite frustrated !
