Issues with 7600 GT

Hi,

Been having a few issue's with my first built - was posting in general.

But issues seem to be around the Graphics card and I am wondering if
anyone can shed some light.

I have loaded windows without the card in no problems but any time I put
the card in it will not post to Bios and gives out 1 beep.

Is the card gubbed or do I need to do something in the BIOS to get it to
work.

Any suggestions would be helpful

Does the 7600 GT require you to plug in an additional power connector? If so, have you done so? Check the gold plating along the cards connector, can you see any dirt or dust that might be preventing a full connection?

Is this a PCIe or AGP card? I doubt you would need to change any bios settings...

This one does not require additional power and seems fine around the edges.

The fan spins when powered up but them that beep comes in

Its a PCIE one

What a diddy

Reason it was not working as that I still had the monitor connected to the
Motherboard.

This was causing a conflict.

But hit another snag now - the card only has 2 DVI connections at the back
but comes with a VGA adapter but when i use it it distorts the colours.

Any ideas ?

Are you sure that you have completely disabled the Motherboards onboard graphics? This is most likely a BIOS setting.
