External SATA RAID or JBOD for a laptop

I'm currently toying with the idea of scrapping my main rig, which, ignoring system drives, has a pair of 250gB Western Digital Caviars in RAID0 and a Caviar 200gB for backup. If I were to scrap my main rig I would still require the storage since my laptop only has a 60gB drive, so I was wondering if/how I would be able to make use of the drives I have.

So, can anyone suggest how I would connect these up? Thinking about it I'm really not too fussed about maintaining the RAID striping, but would really want at least to have them in JBOD at hardware level, and within the same container. You could say I might as well buy a 500gB drive, but that requires £££ :p

Suggestions? Thanks, null :)

Unfortunately if I were to do that it would pretty much destroy any benefit in scrapping my main rig - I'm trying to cut down on how many systems I have. Also the NAS would not be portable. OK so my laptop has WiFi and it would work anywhere at home, but beyond that?

Thanks for the idea anyway, null :)
