.. I've had this Samsung 913B lcd monitor for just over a year, and just came up to use my PC to find an image has been burned into the screen.

I assume it's out of warranty, so therefore it's a chuck it in the bin and get a new one, right?

Ok.

But do you reckon a burnt in image would qualify for a replacement?

If they ask for proof of purchase I'd have to dig out my credit card bills

You should be able to get rid of the screen burn by playing a movie or game with fast changing scenes. It's CRT screens that suffer from perminent burn caused by the electron gun firing at the same points on the screen all the time.

As far as I know, TFT`s don`t burn in the same way crts do, I was worried about burn on my Iiyama screen after using one of the ATI screen servers (the lava one) and my screen took on an orange tinge. Resetting to factory defaults in the menu sorted it completely.....try just resetting all your colours by doing a complete reset and work from there.....it might help.
