Cannot connect to the internet...

Hello,

I'm having trouble with a laptop.

The lady has been using BT Broadband with no problems until this week when she installed mcafee antivirus, now she hasn't been able to connect to the internet at all.

I brought the laptop home to see if the problem is BT, but when the laptop joined my wireless network exactly the same thing happened.

She just gets the 'page cannot be displayed' messages. It cannot connect to MSN messenger either.

Any ideas of what I can try?

Try again with McAfee turned off, if it works then look through the options in McAfee and try to find out whats blocking the access

Indeed, turn off the firewall or virus protector and then just load em up again.

look to see what firewalls/av's etc it has, and disable any of them one by one until it works..

she won't really need mcaffe

Sorry I forgot to say, I uninstalled mcafee and disabled the windows firewall as I thought you same as you guys but no joy.

Any other ideas?

When I try and ping google I get a reply so it can send and receive data it just seems I can't display it.

Any thoughts?
