How can i allow a non-administrator change their IP settings as they want to be able to use their wireless at home on the work lappy.

Or is there an application that lets them switch between the two? That would be much nicer. :)

Hmm. May go down that route. It's only one user at the moment...and she's not likely to mess anything up.

Unless "power users" allow you to do that, but not install lots of non-company software.

Setup a DHCP server which uses static leases based on MAC to assign machines an IP address, you then can change DNS and other settings centrally while still ensuring the user always gets the same address. Works well with printers and servers too.

The user can then plug into their wireless kit and everything sorts itself out as the IP address is still assigned by DHCP along with subnet, DNS, gateway etc.

not sure about this..

can you create a new hardware profile and have their home network settings in one account and office network settings in another

-they then get a 'choose your os' option like multiboot as their laptop is turned on

Hmm. Very good idea. Everything will be exactly the same but i can just alter the wireless to be static in one profile and set to automatically pick up in another?
