Basically there is nothing worthwhile in the £200 - £250 range. To quote myself:-

How much do you want to spend? I'd say going from least to most in expenditure, 7600 GT (£100), 7900 GS (£110), x1950 Pro (£125), x1950 XT (£170), 8800 GTS (£290), 8800 GTX (£375).

How big is the performance jump from a 1950XT to a 8800GTS?

*edit*

I just looked at some benchmarks and I think the 8800 is the way forward.

And to re-quote melbourne720 myself, I completely agree with this.

Spend the extra on the GTS. :)

I'd too say go the extra and get a 8800GTS if you going to spend that kinda money...

otherwise a couple of these in SLI if your board can do it, with a little overclocking would give very good performance...

or likewise again if your motherboard can do crossfire a couple of x1950 pros in crossfire would give very good performance, although crossfire doesn't seem to be as well supported as SLI in a broader range of games.
