Looking for a good TV for the price. 32" would probably be better as the room its for is quite big. It is to replace the JVC 30" crt which has scaling issues (it shows the top 30% of the picture) and will only be used for DVD's and SKY (non-HD) for the a while. Ability to hook up a HD-dvd player + HD-sky box at the same time for future use would be useful (along with at least 2 scart ports for the current AV equipment).

Thanks for any recommendations.

Based on my owning the 26" version I would recommend the JVC LT-32DX7 for £788.

Best sound on any LCD TV, unbeatable connectivity - 2xHDMI, component, VGA, phono outs, 2xScart, freeview, does a decent job on SD material...

and best of all it's made in Britain!

Apparently its the KDL-32S2510

with these specs:

# 32" S-series BRAVIA LCD TV HD Ready
# Integrated Digital TV Tuner (also receives analogue)
# High Performance LCD panel
# Wide Viewing Angle 178 degrees
# BRAVIA ENGINE
# Fast Response Time 8ms
# Dynamic Contrast 5000:1
# SRS TruSurround XT for enhanced surrounding effect
# BBE technology for clear and easily audible sound
# High Aperture Ratio Speaker Cover
# Silent Start & Quiet Power On
# Light Sensor to Control Backlight for Optimum Picture Quality
# PIP Freeze to Pause Important Scenes on the Spot
# Swivel to Adjust Display to the Best Viewing Position
# High Definition Multimedia Interface (HDMI) x2
# PC Input for use as a PC monitor
# Non-Reflective coating on TV frames

I`m trying to find out where my mum is looking at prices as this seems to be closer to 900-950.

Anyone heard anything good/bad about this set?

I've found it easily for £800.

Ah I've found it, seems to be a new addition. I wish the sony website wasn't so crap, it doesn't even tell you the difference between the different product lines, neither does samsung for that matter.

Looks good, seems to be the replacement for the 2030/10 models.

I expect it is the same quality as the 2010 model but has 2 hdmi ports, and dynamic contrast (useless).

One of the best tvs for the money, if not the best. Cheapest I've found it is for £780 inc vat.

I brought a Polariod from a well know computer retailer for £499, an absolutely cracking tv which does the splitscreen Picture in picture which only a few of the really expensive modles do (great fo pc and tv at the same time)

Just bought a Hitachi 32" LD6600B LCD today.

Picture quality is superb, XBox 360 games look amazing on it.

£599 inc of a 3 year warranty and half price glass stand from a well known high street catalogue shop beginning with "A".

It also has Picture in picture, fully HDMI compliant with PC input slots as well.

Highly recommended.
