Screw Down H/S`s when do you know they are fitted correctly

It would take a great deal of pressure to crack a core if you have an even mount. When I had my opty(naked) I tightened the nuts down until I couldn't tighten anymore. Wingnuts are great for this purpose ;)

Except I killed my 3000+ by screwing down too hard on an uneven mount (only two bolts, so it rocked on the core if you weren't careful)

Usually, you're lookign for a firm contact, so the HS can't be moved easily, tighter is always better, as you reduce the gap (which has to be bridged by thermal gunk) between HSF and core.

Do it by feel, if it's too hot (educated guess based on previous temps you've seen from the core) then just tighten it a little.
