First shots with Canon 70-200mm f4 L - C&C Welcome

Hi all. I got my Canon 70-200mm f4 L today and I am pretty impressed with it. The speed of which it responds, i.e. focusing, is amazing compared to my old Sigma. I only managed to get down to my local stable and here are some of my first shots with it:

ooooo nice, the last image shows the sharpness and depth of field off well

I really need to buy a 70-200 lens but there are so many others lenses calling for attention as well :/

Nice pictures! Agree with SDK - good sharpness on the last one, probably the best for me.

Out of all the 70-200s, I'd consider the f4 non-IS the best value for money, but would get the f2.8 non-IS. I'd get the IS if I could afford it, but would avoid the f4 IS as it's overpriced IMO.

The 70-200 F4 IS is one of the best lenses in Canon's line up !!!
The price will drop a little once demand drops.

Also looking for this focal length and cannot see a better bang for buck lens than this..

Sigma 70-200 2.8 is regarded highly. In some respects it's as good/better, although it's slower than the Canon, but at £575(ish) it's a cracking bit of kit that shouldn't be sniffed at. I nearly bought one this weekend, but got a macro lens instead
