has the internet saved my life ??? Not really. Certainly made it a lot better though.

A few years back I went through some pretty bad depression. Not the feeling down or just having a few bad days. Full on in your face depression. So having the ability to diagnose some of the problems etc was a real help. Up until I did some research I was one of them people who thought Im too strong to be depressed or it was sign of weakness. Helped me move onwards and upwards to a beter quality of life and start enhoying it again

Also up until a few weeks ago my quality of life was better as well because of the podcasts I was listening to. Damn Apple and their 3 ipods that have managed to die on me in as many years

That's the thing, its not even medical. I just found a piece of research suggesting what caused acne and the particular lack of a vitamin.

I have only ever tested this on myself so all I can vouch for is that it worked on me without a doubt.

http://www.acne-vitamins.com/pantothenic-acid-acne.html
This basically says that people with acne have a problem with metabolising fat because they need more "coenzyme-A" which almost acts like a catalytic converter for your body.

http://www.coenzyme-a.com/Merchant2...p9999&Product_Code=COA001&Category_Code=MFORM
This basically give your body enough to do what it needs to stop spots. It's not cheap but it will last a long time. I found that you need far less than stated on the side of the bottle - so it will last longer than expected. You need to experiment with the amount you take because if you take too much you will get spots in different places.
The right amount took them away completely for me.
They may well work but they seem expensive for what they are, especially the 2nd one which is basically vitamin B5 and some amino acids. Did you have to pay import tax on those? I've ordered supplements from the USA before and got hammered for tax :(

100g of pure Vitamin B5 powder £6.50

I think all the ingredients from the coenzyme can be bought from MP if you wanted to. The cysteine and l-carnitine from the amino acid section and if you look about you'll find the minerals magnesium and calcium too. That's pretty much all it is and they charge $55 for 90 caps + whatever for delivery and tax... ouch!

Spending that much on the powders would allow you make loads of caps, maybe 10+ times more? Don't listen to the marketing gobble-gook spouted on those sites, vitamin B5 alone has worked for a friend of mine :) He gets acne from steroids and combats it with the B5.

Just another option for people.

Those Coenzyme-A look the business, I would actually get younger if I took those. However, I will pass up the opportunity to try those as I am very interested in trying out the Horny Goat Weed. :D
I've got some of that, bought it out of curiosity :) It's actually quite good but it's subtle so don't expect it to work like Viagra!

My first option was vitamin B5 and I found that I would have to take something like 10-20g per day in order for it to have a minimal effect. B5 is a precursor to Coenzyme A, and it seems that Coenzyme A is what does the trick rather than just B5.

I thought it was a god-send when I found CoEnzyme A, if only because I could then stop shovelling so many B5 pills down my throat morning and night.

I'm clear, but I'm also 25. I had spots up until 21-22 maybe (when I discovered this) at which point I then became obsessed that my hair was thinning! :p

At present I DO get spots when stressed, but they're so minor that I don't really keep a supply anymore.

I'm looking into those at the moment due to your link. Was your acne bad, or does it work with minor spots as well?

Depends on what you mean by 'bad'. I was wondering what happened with this thread.

I've changed my mind on the supplements, they decrease it slightly but diet has a lot to do with it as well.

Take the supplements, and check what it is about your diet (usually processed food) that your body doesn't like. My most recent outbreak was due to instant coffee, that stuff is ****.

Only thing I have regularly is Ribena and Honey Cornflakes

Had spots before I had ribena and they haven't got any worse. I swear they get worse before exams though :/

I think I'll just try a shovel-load of B5 things before spending loads on those ones you pointed out. If that works then I'll try the expensive coenzyme things..

I already take multivitamins which include 100% of the B5 RDA apparently. (6mg).

I'll try maybe 15mg of it a day. Is it like VitC where too much is just removed from your body or are there any potential dangers(didn't see anything on the wiki article on it).

If you're buying from Holland and Barratt - B5 is a false economy, you'll need to spend 10-15 per week as I was at one point

Ah.

Is there a reason nowhere in the UK sells the CoA thing?

You guys with acne, do you find your skin is always "redish"? I had bad spots, im 22 now and its normally a few months before i get a bad spot. (Very big see it from a mile away). So i guess its slowly dieng. I read how acne virus or whatever stays in your system for 8 years or something as well? Ive had it nearly that long and it seems to be dying

Anyway, my skin just seems "unhealthy?" Its very reddy, greasy, doesnt have the health smoothness and colour of everyone else. Its round my t-zone. A doctor one told me its due to the acne virus, but i dont think it is anymore, i rarely get any spots.

I dont know what it is, im thinking its diet, as im very skinny and cant seem to put on weight! (6tf3 and weigh 10.3 stone) Anybody know sites with "diet plans" or such. Some plan i can follow?

As for the origional question, ive never saved my life with the internet, but i have a pet! :D

Don't think I have proper acne. I just have spots (I have been led to believe acne is slightly different). So I can't really help you. However, a few people in sports arena seem to know about diets and what to eat.

Anybody else besides CBS tried Coenzyme-A?

Still in two minds on the subject?

I think best advice is change diet (usually cutting out processed foods is enough) and this CoEnzyme-A. I found that I still had half a bottle left and starting taking them after a spot outbreak. They were effective in making it better, but it didn't fully go until I looked at my diet.
