Orton Effect photos........

Has anyone had a play at doing this in PS? I came across this web page on creating it in PS and to be honest I've not really had much success. The best I've done is below, but its not great. Help!

A very interesting technique, will have to try this.
I think it would work better on a lighter subject - at least while you're getting the hang of it Take the flower outside maybe.

This photo is several months old, but uses this effect.

Doing it the "real" way produces better results - you get highlight halos et cetera. Some cameras will merge the shots in-camera. If not it's easy enough to do it afterwards in PS.

It's nice for flower macros & other luvvy duvvy dreamy scenes ahem ;s - but I've seen it used best taken somewhat out of context, in some downtown urban photography.
