thinking about a camcorder....

Mostly for taking videos of extreme(ish) sports for viewing on my TV (via laptop) and uploading to the web

I'm looking at sub £300 units and am being tempted with the Sony DVD 106 at the moment.

Any comments / thoughts / opinions are welcome, I'd prefer constructive ones of course

My next question is where is the best place to get a sand proof / water resistant housing for ons of these and what's the easiest way to recharge them form a 12v supply.

I take it no body in here has an opinion on cheep camcorders then? The Sony DCR-HC37 is currently favorite I think

Panasonic NV-GS180 - great picture and sound quality. Plus it's a 3 chip for better colours Can be had for around £300.
