I posted this on the hard drives forum but had no response. I wondered if any here might be able to help?

I've had this board for eighteen months now running a WD SATA 74GB Raptor HD. It had always been my intention of having a go at running RAID (never done it before) and am about to take the plunge with a second 74GB Raptor.

While downloading all the latest BIOS, drivers etc in preparation I see there seems to be the option of two raid drivers (and chips) with this board:

nForce4 - NVIDIA Raid
Silicon Image Raid

Which should I use - does it matter? Is one preferable to the other? Would anyone who's running Raid on one of these boards mind pointing me in the right direction?

Thanks

Use the Nvidia RAID as built into the NF4 chipset. The silicon image is sitting on the PCI bus and so has to share bandwidth with other PCI devices.
