Well session 1 to England. Got through the new ball and scoring at a good rate. Both batsmen looking good, Cook closing in on another 50. Now to continue and build up a nice score after lunch.

88-1. Strauss slicing a drive straight to the man at point :(

103-2. Shah gets a decent delivery and edges :(

nah not enough wickets lost to be a one day score. Bit of a joke at the moment, light got better a while ago but have been sitting around doing nowt.

Rudi just said its improved a lot but still we're going to wait a little bit.

Good day... besides dodgy english weather :p

Cook getting a century, well done.. looks promising for test cricket.

Shame Strauss got out, and Pietersen obviously...

Looking for a collingwood steady but winning the race special... Be nice to see Cook get a big ton as well...

I prefer test cricket

There's more of a story to be told in a test match as well things can twist one way then the other over a 5 day match in the ODI's it can be (and often was in the world cup) over by lunch time with one team skittled and the other picking the runs off easily.

That seems to be more of a decision for the next test than this one, when Vaughan comes back he'll bat at 3 so they probably starting Bell at 6 now.

Of course when Vaughan and Flintoff are both fit someone is going to have to be dropped either Strauss or Bell I suppose?

Yeah and it'll probably be Bell at the moment considering Strauss is captain now and presumably unofficial vice captain once Vaughan is back. Plus Vaughan will come back at 3 so Strauss will be needed to open.

Could be a straight fight between Collingwood and Bell for the final middle order place.

Vaughan better get some very quick runs on the board when he comes back because the press and fans will soon be on his back if he starts hogging a place in the team while keeping in from players like Bell or Collingwood out.

I suppose they could get by on 4 bowlers (Flintoff, Harmison, Hoggard and either Plunkett or Panesar depending on conditions alongside Collingwood, Pietersen and Vaughans part time stuff) and play all of them but that's putting a lot of workload on Flintoffs dodgy ankle.

Can't see that happening, would be too much workload for him. He needs to deserve his place with his batting. Its just a bonus that hes such a good bowler too. His fitness kinda rules out a place just based on his bowling, even though he may be a better bowler than say Plunkett.

Could have a hard time doing so if Collingwood and Bell do well here. Bells looking the more fluent at the moment. He is a classy player so does seem to score at a decent rate when he gets going. Colly always seems to be battling away in comparison. Maybe why hes always the one considered for the chop.

Edit: typical, just after I say that he starts playing some nice shots. Now 101no.
