Can anybody confirm that these mobo's with heatpipes will be OK in a Lian Li V2000 case (the mobo goes in upside down).

So have I made a mistake going for a 680i based board (Striker Extreme) at this moment in time? Purchased 4GB of Dominator to go with it!

Again, it comes down to the 'when is the best time to upgrade?' eternal question and I have been out of the Core 2 Duo game for too long

Luckily 680i boards, after a bios update, will be compatible with penryn chips so fortunately you (and I) haven't lost out there. Only time will tell how well they overclock with them though.

If you want to OC the RAM the 4GiG Dominator is bad as its crap to OC, you get 20-30mhz more and even at stock wont get timmings down to 4-4-4-12, I was warned to late by a peep here as my order was in before I got regged.
He did advise the Mushkin.

There shouldn't be a problem. The heat pipes are there to draw the heat from the mobo chipsets so board orientation won't be a problem.
