Sorry but I just laughed at that, don't put it on a job application thats for sure.I am from England and have a well educated background
BallisticJack said:No...but the Charity should front the costs. It would then be up to the Charity to ensure that any applicants are committed to doing a good job whilst they are out there.
dboundy said:Better idea, what about you front the costs but then the charity refund you upon completion of the work.

You can do ANYTHING for sponsorship, these projects are about helping people but also about you growing up and learning new things. When my brother went to southern Africa to do a uni development project with 3 mates he dressed up as a woman and went around Sheffield with a bucket, organised a dinner (charge loads and make a massive profit ;D), etc.
Use your imagination.
Also, getting onto NGO or UN projects is almost impossible :\
You aren't getting ripped off, ask them for a breakdown of the costs - it WILL add up.
omg
Edit :: its about HELPING people, not getting a freebie thing to put on your CV

Only catch was the minimum time was a month! Considering my summer holiday is only 6 weeks I couldn't do it! I'll do it next year though when I have a few months off.
