Hey guys,

I'm working on a project at work, and we are looking for movies that have lots of action inside cars. It can range from acting pieces (Pulp fiction, Crash, etc) to car chases, or any scene that has characters doing something interesting inside a vehicle. Also interested in funky/unusual camera angles.

Extra points for finding scenes that involve people getting out of wrecked/overturned cars.

Cheers!

Matrix Reloaded is an obvious example for me. While the film dissapointed many, I can watch it for the chase sequence alone on a good screen!

Ronin has some good car chase scenes with some action (shooting etc) going on during the racing.

The chase near the end of Blues Brothers is just sensational, even now. It's brilliant. While just plain silly in places, it's equally matched by skilled driving of that old cop motor. You hear the wheels screech as it lurches about at high speed, and you've got John Belushi hanging out the window to wipe oil from the windscreen while the entire world is chasing them. (And then there's the stupid amount of cars that pile up behind them).

Sin City, two scenes with Clive Owen, one with the hookers and one with Jackie Boy. One of them was directed by Tarantino, did interesting stuff with light and such.

One of the bourne films has a good one in russia I think it is.

How about some james bond. Erm the car race along the mountain roads (him one car, woman other car) with the cyclists. Someone will know the film. Think he then goes to a casino and see's the car in the parking lot. (want to say octopussy but I don't think it is)

Gone in 60 seconds. A couple in there but mainly the last car they steal.

Mad Max / Fast & the Furious are two that may have some but maybe a bit obvious / crap.

The original version of the Italian job, but not for the Mini chase scene(s)

right at the start of the film, the scene with the camera set low inside the lamborghini as he winds it up through the alps into the tunnel is excellent :)

You'll be wanting the A-team then. :D

The Chase is set almost entirely inside a car. Although from what I remember the film is nowt special.

Almost forgot the chase scene in The Rock. Hummer, Ferrari, Squad cars, Tram, large pane of glass you can guess the rest.

Have to be movies? The video for '1979' by Smashing Pumpkins has some good camera usage.

Off the top of my head though for films... Collateral, Brick, Reno 911:Miami, Super Troopers, Beerfest...

For wrecked cars look no further than Grindhouse, Bullet, Smokey and the Bandit etc. ;)

The original version of Gone in 60 Seconds?

doesn't have Angelina Jolie i admit but the last half of the film is basically one 30 minute car chase that ends up totalling a mach1 mustang :)
