Hows my spec? Is there a better cooler for overclocking?
Does everything else look okay? Is the abit the best motherboard for the Q6600?

Looks pretty good to me :)

The only other CPU cooler to look at would be the Scythe coolers, or go watercooling.

I suppose you could get a Thermalright Ultra-120 Extreme and a 120mm fan to go on it or theirs the possibility of watercooling buts thats a lot more expensive, the TT is a very capable cooler and will do you fine

I wouldnt say the "best" as all the P35 motherboards and very good overclockers, the Abit is very good and recommended a lot though so you should be fine with that motherboard for when you come to OC your Quad.

gaming

if you gaming try and sprint the extra 50 quid for the 640MB GTS, it will do you well in the long run with the 20 incher.

a lot of people will argue the point, but whats 50 quid when you spending 900+ already...

Pretty good, getting the upgrade to 640mb is purely preference, but the increase in performance arent shown to be great at lower resolutions, so personally id stick to the 320 and save for next gen of graphics cards.

Thanks for the posts regarding the graphics card. I did have the GTX in my spec but then was told it was overkill and thought what the hell, ill give the GTS ago and just went for the cheapest one because if it isnt up to stratch then ill be buying a G98 card :) As DirectX 10.1 has been floating around.

That spec should be in for now, im going to get a raptor for the XP and games and ive got a 2 brand new 160GB harddrives one being for storage and one for backup in a external caddie.

Anymore input would be appreicated.
Thanks Carl :)
