Did this as suggested and the motherboard now recognises the GPU fine! No more B2 screen :) thank you very much.
Just seen your post NUFCRulez and that's practically exactly what I did to get it working. Thank you also.
Here is my card:-

I've reseated the card but haven't tried a different slot.
Hi guys,
As the title says, I've bought a new Galax 970 and when I boot up I'm met by a black screen with a hyphen in one corner and 'B2' on the lower right corner. This hangs for about 3 minutes until eventually loading windows.
I've tried updating my motherboards BIOS (MSI Z77A-G45)...
Ok so Speedfan did the trick! Extremely happy thanks AbbotsMike for the suggestion. With Speedfan there is a tickbox for "Automatically adjusting fan speed" and with that ticked my fans resumed back to normal state about 3-5 minutes after I closed Battlefield 4.
Thanks again.
I'll test it again tomorrow, I'll leave the laptop on for a good hour after Battlefield 4 is closed and see what happens as I only left it for maybe 20 minutes last time but I guess that was another.
I'll try speedfan first thing after work tomorrow and report back.
Yes like I was saying in the previous posts the temperatures for the CPU are returning back to normal levels I checked this with MSI Afterburner software.
It never eventually returns to normal which is the problem. The CPU fan stays at 100% once the game closes even once the CPU returns to around 40 degrees. Does seem like a bug.
@Speed I've checked the manufacturers website and there isn't a bios update.
Hi,
Recently bought a laptop and have noticed that when I play Battlefield 4 on it the fans obviously ramp up however when I close the game and the graphics card and CPU return to their usual temperatures the fans stay at the level they were at during Battlefield game-play.
Anyone know how to...
Well, below £150 ideally. He assumed you'd have to pay that sort of money, how do the Takstar's fair against the DT770's? Is there a drop in build/sound quality do you know?
Holy cow they are cheap, thanks for the suggestions. After speaking to my dad he isn't keen on the portable amplifier idea so strictly low powered headphones it is. He just really liked the shape/comfort of the DT770 Pro so needs to be extremely similar.
I'll look into the 32Ω edition thanks. He mainly just sits around the house with it so I don't think it needs to be too portable so a portable amplifier is an option. I let him try my 80Ω with his iPhone and he said they were very quiet.
Hi guys,
I have a pair of Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro headphones, my dad tried them on and instantly asked me to find him a pair that are usable with an iPhone as he found them really comfy. Would it be worth getting a portable headphone amplifier and getting a pair of DT770's or is there an...
Downloaded new drivers and the problem still persists, I hover over the sound symbol in the icon tray with an X over it and it says "No speakers or headphones are plugged in"
@Darren_uk problem is when this error occurs the Sounblaster Z isn't even there.
Hi Guys,
I have the Sound Blaster Z sound card and sometimes when I boot up my computer the sound symbol has an X over it with no device, the only way to solve this is to reboot my PC over and over until it works fine.
I tried re-installing drivers and chipset for mobo but no difference...
Hi I'm back, I tried my microphone and ASUS Xonar DGX on my brothers computer which didn't suffer from any EMI issues at all.
Mic that came with the Sound Blaster Z was exactly the same as the modmic, needed noise reduction on sound blaster control panel to make the static vanish but then the...
