    Road Cycling Essentials

That's a LOT of cycling. How'd you find the time to do all that, or is a lot of it commuting? Very impressive!

    Road Cycling Essentials

Finally got my road bike after about 4 weeks of faffing around with cycle to work stuff, a Focus Culebro 2013 (alu frame, carbon forks, compact ultegra bits). Currently waiting on shoes, but couldn't resist a quick shot using trainers. Have only ridden mountain bikes before, so the speed it...

    Road Cycling Essentials

Newbie checking in. Just ordered a bike on the cycle to work scheme, a Focus Culebro SL 2.0 Ultegra 2013 Compact. http://www.edinburghbicycle.com/products/focus-culebro-sl-2-0-ultegra-c-13 Planning to use it as an alternative to running to mix up training a bit. I'm moderately fit (run 25...

*** Show us your bikes! ***

Worst picture ever, but managed to get out on my bike for the first time this year. Forgot how much fun it is, had a huge grin the entire time and was laughing at points. Fantastic little bike. :)

    Junior asp.NET Developer role.........

Target practice with a Nerf gun. :) Most likely they'll ask you to solve a problem and write your algorithm in pseudocode on a whiteboard, or possibly the same but in a language of your choice. Or if it's hands on they may sit you infront of a computer and ask you to bash out a simple ASP.NET...

What percentage of your wage do put towards motoring?

12% give or take, allowing £150 a month for depreciation, realistic running costs, insurance, tax and enough fuel to cover 25k miles a year.

    My Official £50-£46,000 betting challenge

I'm out! Was all in for £30.46, bet number 47, Wigan vs Sunderland for under 4.5 goals, placed during play. Was 0-1 at half time so thought it was safe. D'oh. Managed an astonishing 46 bets in a row without losing, going from £12.00 to £30.46 in a few days, almost 2.5 times the...

    My Official £50-£46,000 betting challenge

I'm still in, but didn't do much yesterday: Start: £12.00 Day 1: £15.91 (+32%) Day 2: £21.44 (+35%) Day 3: £25.25 (+18%) Day 4: £26.56 (+5%) I'm never betting on darts again after they almost wiped me out a couple of days ago. Beware!

    My Official £50-£46,000 betting challenge

Yep, that's the issue. If I manage to nurse £10 into £100 it's not the value that important, it's the amount of time that went into it! If you have the balls to keep going to £1000 then it becomes real money.... I guess the solution is to have no fear and attachment to what you've achieved so...

Start: £12.00 Day 1: £15.91 (+32%) Day 2: £21.44 (+35%) Day 3: £25.25 (+18%) That's me for the day. Put everything on a few low risk under x.5 goal bets today and they all went ok. That's my money doubled after 3 days. If only I'd put in real money to start with.... :p

    bought a focus st-2

You're concentrating on one specific downside. It's well known and owners will have considered this when making their purchase. 10 mpg more won't save much money until you start doing lots of miles. It's ~£650 difference between 25 and 35 mpg over 10k miles. On the upside, they'll have saved...

Fuel economy is the cars biggest downfall. On the upside, they're: - Cheap to buy - Look nice - Comfortable for long journeys - Handle well - Engine has a nice spread of power, sounds great, doesn't need thrashed to go everywhere Compared to the common alternatives (Golf GTI, A3 2.0T...

Retiring for the day. Almost lost it all on darts after going for a very safe 1.02 bet on someone to win who was 3-0 up which quickly turned to 3-3. I'm never betting on darts again. Progress so far: Start: £12.00 Day 1: £15.91 (+32%) Day 2: £21.44 (+35%) It's rather addictive. :D

Don't fit Falken 912's to a Focus ST. It's a torquey front heavy car that handles fantastically and really deserves decent tyres. You can get Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 2's for £116 each from Camskill. I had one when they first came out. Was fantastic having a bright orange car, but the...
