    The **Now Eating** Thread

[/URL] Been out for afternoon tea with my sister - drool. Was amazing. Mini prawn cocktail, roasties with aioli, spiced parsnip soup, sausage roll, and a turkey, stuffing and cranberry sandwich. Chocolate orange brownie, cream scone, mini trifle, mince pie, gingerbread Christmas tree...

Just been in to visit work on the last day of term. The old head used to retreat to her office with a fake migraine on the last day of term. The new head has sprung for a huge buffet of platters from M&S to say thanks to everyone for all their hard work. Turned up on the right day to snaffle...

How often do you eat takeaway and how many people in house?

Usually about once every 2/3 weeks. There's just the 2 of us (eating anyway - 3 month old baby doesn't like takeaways :D) I like Chinese but husband doesn't so every so often he will give in and let me get Chinese; more often an Indian or pizza though we actually prefer getting a couple of fresh...

I made the exact same banana bread from the same recipe this week :) Not much left of it now! Do you find you need to bake it for practically double the time it says, or is it my rubbish oven?

Just had two crumpets with melted cheese and bits of spring onion on. Now having some chips dipped in chilli barbecue sauce. So healthy :D Making a chicken dinner tonight. As it's National Yorkshire Pudding Day (apparently), best go out to get some eggs to get some yorkies made!

Who are your favourite tv chef ?

My favourites are: Michel Roux Jr. - gutted he isn't on Masterchef Pros any more as I can't stand Marcus Wareing. Glad Monica Galetti stayed though. James Martin - Saturday Kitchen is a weekly watch (I just love him for his egg puns really ;) ) Rick Stein - though some of the stuff I see him...

Hand keeps dipping into the Christmas pot of Twiglets I bought last night, whilst marking. Have had chilli in the slow cooker since 11, so hoping when it comes to eating at about 6pm it will be at the meat-falling-apart stage. :)

I found a broken cat this evening :/

It's a real shame the cat was put down, but I do have something to add to show the owners might not be total demons: A few months ago, a gorgeous ginger cat started hanging around our house. He was uncastrated and spraying, was upsetting our cats. I saw that one day he had a really sore looking...

*** Show us your Dogs ***

Poor quality pic, for which I apologise, but: In the top picture, Meg on the left with the new boy Rufus on the right. In the bottom picture, Meg on the left with Freddie, this was taken the day before he was knocked down (it is a picture of a picture which is why the quality is so rubbish)...

    Show us your kitty cats

No idea. She had been outside for about an hour, and came in limping. We think it is most likely she has trapped it in something and done the damage when trying to yank it out as there is no external trauma that would point to her being clipped by a car or attacked by another animal.
