I'm in the same boat. 920 @ 3.6 that hasn't failed me in 4½ years :)
The reviews don't provide much in the way of required power supplies, does anyone know the minimum ATX spec required if I was to disable Haswell's low idle states in UEFI? Running with a pretty old BFG ES 800w which I think...
Bought this yesterday, pretty entertaining! Cheers for the heads up Neil
Been looking for another TD game since immensely enjoying my first dip into the genre with Kingdom Rush, but nothing has come close since looking :(
920 @ 3.6ghz since November 2009.
I get the upgrade itch every time a tick/tock arrives, but the effort/cost of changing platform for small IPC/cache improvements changes my mind every time.
Managing USB3/SATA6G on PCIe cards isn't pretty but it does the job...
HDDs have a good decade more, unless you think SSDs are going to drop 3800%* in the next 2-3 years, or everyone plans to abandon their local storage for cloud services.
* 2TB of SSDs @ ~£2500 vs 2TB HDD @ ~£65
Although this is probably unique to me, I've had this kind of annoyance from all 7200rpm drives - certain parts of the room are very resonant, and it drives me mad too when it needs the occasional overnight session.
Looking to throw out the RAID array (3 x F3s) when SSDs get closer to £1/GB...
If you plug it in as a data drive and create your placeholder partition (Win7 > drive management) it'll set the correct alignment.

Assuming your ramdisk is ready (auto-load, auto-save, mounted and formatted), this method avoids having to reinstall Firefox / wipe profiles or use another drive letter, and can be undone if needed:
Close all instances of firefox

I must have about 30 Huelsbeck remixes alone, legendary composer :)
More general Amiga remixes here, quite a few gems!

Indeed, I got burned with a 256GB C300 last summer when they were £500 - died just 5 hours in. Being my first venture into SSD land, crushed was not the word...
Bought a budget X25-V in August (complemented with 3 x HDD RAID0 for chunky stuff) and it's not missed a beat.
The G3s could retire...
@ OP: Scaling looks about right, this is 3 x F3s:
Good for games / video processing etc, but they resonate annoyingly in this particular case, ditching them all once Intel's G3 hits!
Paranoid about backlight burn! Especially on the secondary output to a Bravia, sometimes doze off to a static desktop and don't trust it :p
Reapplied the timer and it seems to be functional again now, very odd...
Anyone else noticed their screensaver not kicking in on the above drivers?
No such info through Google, probably too obscure!
Running Win 7 HP x64.
Cheers!
