Recently fit the 420 version in the top of a 7000D (@humbug loads of space in there).
Generally I found it pretty nice to fit.
My 3 thoughts are:
Tubes are quite stiff and not all that long.
I was disappointed there wasn't pre-applied paste, but it is nice they include a small tube of MX-6.
I...
Tell me about it! Running out of ideas and not sure what to do.
I did update the motherboard BIOS to the latest version quite early on, perhaps before installing Windows. Wondering if I should try using a slightly older BIOS (Asus Strix X670E-F).
No. Since I have 2 NVMe drives under a single...
Like I said I only had one drive in when I installed Windows. I added the other later. I thought it was all working, it was fine for hours. I can't set the PC up when the other hard drives aren't installed so it was set up as much as it could be with one drive in.
Yeah, definitely removed the drive.
I only had 1 drive connected when I installed Windows, but have since installed two more. Disconnecting drives is awkward as they're NVMe drives under a heatsink, under a GPU.
I did set the memory speed, but then reverted it when getting issues.
I did, but after having issues I set it back and it made no difference.
One day it was fine the next (well, later that same day) it just wouldn't boot.
So I just built a new PC, installed Windows and it all seemed fine.
Was just doing some Windows updates and installing some drivers as you do, it needed to restart, so I did. But from that point on it wouldn't boot into Windows. All the motherboard LEDs go out as I believe they should. If the...
Hi,
Not sure if I'm best asking this here or in the Graphics Card section but...
I'm wondering if there's a way to make sure you're getting a good DP 1.4 cable and not something that's so borderline it causes flickering or whatever?
I need to connect a 4K/144Hz monitor with a DP 1.4a connector...
You said just sit there in the OS, so your point is that you didn't say "looking at" it, so sitting there in the OS not looking at it? You were suggesting the OS didn't matter when you were running a program as it didn't affect the program. It clearly can.
I don't see the problem with going from...
Coming from the guy that implies you're only using the OS when you're sitting and looking at the OS...
The OS affects pretty much everything from how you find something to how you launch it, how it runs in the foreground, how it runs in the background and how it closes.
I didn't just ask if it...
AMD drivers are not perfect even now. I've had issues with pretty much every AMD card I've had (but I keep buying them). My issue with the 7900XT did get resolved but it took the best part of a year.
That said Nvidia drivers aren't perfect either so it'll be pot luck if you get an issue or not...
I'm having a similar issue, I can't decide between the MSI MPG x670e Carbon and the Asus ROG x670e-f Gaming Wifi. The Asus is cheaper, but the MSI has more front-panel USB3 connectors and doesn't use the Intel network hardware. Is that still an issue?
Are there any other plus points or negative...
I was torn between the two (but at standard FE prices). I ended up going for the 4090, but have since been having buyers remorse thinking I should've got the 4080 SUPER.
Ah well, too late now I guess.
