From what I've researched 2080Ti & VR headsets are power hungry. I'd rather have too much power than not enough and have issues down the road

Right the good news i think. Tried my GFX 970 in the lower PCI-E slot and the game works no issues at all, started up and played for a few mins. So from that it looks like the top PCI-E slot is messed up somehow, even though I have made sure the 970 has been plugged in fully etc
