I'm at a bit of a loss, windows prompts me if I want to accept the drivers as they are not signed. But then the device still shows as having no drivers in device manager.
I've booted with the f8, disable driver certificate checks and it still doesnt work.
:(
I spoke to their tech support guys who said they have no intention of ever doing it.
The guy even had the nerver to say "well even adobe haven't made a 64 bit version of photoshop".
To which I replied, "the differance is adobe works in vista 64 bit, your product doesn't"
Ohh well I've learnt...
Has anyone managed to get this combo working?
I'm looking to bring my music creation PC up to 64 bit so I can use 4GB of ram but I'm having problems installing this firewire audio device.
I've spoken to Stanton and they where most unhelpful and said they had no intention of updating their...
So task manager is wrong then? ;)
As smooth as you need for surfing the web/watching youtube.
Surely that's the whole point of multiple cores and good task switching. XP will prioritize applications so that despite being at full load everything still gets the time it needs to be responsive...
Cheers, I'll give it a try when I get home. 2 x Orthos assigned to the cores seemd to get them all up to 100% but if I can do that with one app then all the better.
Cheers for eveyone's advice.
Well the Formula arrived yesterday and everything is now working fine.
Got to say I'm pretty impressed so far, even coming from an X2. Pretty amazing being able to run two copies of orthos each assigned to two of the cores, while running AV scan, copying files, running a sub 30 sec superpi and...
Can anyone recommend between the following mobo's;
DFI LP UT P35-T2R
Abit IP35 Pro
MSI P35 Platinum
Asus Maximus Formula Intel X38
Abit IX38 QuadGT Intel X38
Gigabyte GA-X38-DS4 Intel X38
I don't really need an x38 but if I'm going to shell out a bit more on something better then...
Well I just tried some generic ddr2 and a P4 prescot 2.7 skt 775 in the mobo and I'm still getting the same symptoms. Powering on and then turning on and off after several seconds.
Looks like it's a dead board :(
Gonna have to get on the RMA.
Was that a q6600 as well or another 775 socket chip?
Last Intel I had was a PIII :p
Gonna have to check if any of the new work pc's have a socket 775 I could use to test. Don't know anyone else who has one. Grrr.
Could it be the BIOS doesn't support the Q6600 yet? One of the reason I...
Ok so I just got some new componenets yesterday.
Q6600, Asus P5KC and 2GB OCZ PLATINUM XTC, Artic Cooler A7.
The rest of the system will be from my previous X2 build, x1900xt and a decent Tagen 500W PSU + couple of sata drives.
Connected everything up yesterday and when powering on the...
If you wanna check out some cutting edge solaris stuff look for opensolaris developer edition which is basicaly stripped down solaris 11 and nexenta (open solaris kernel with GNU programs).
What is my positive input?
It's to not waste your time on an irrelivance.
I just can't see why you'd need to do a reinstall and I'm trying to save you time, so don't get arsey about it. If you want to waste your time go ahead.
Surely a simple clean up of the disk and a defrag would do?
Why would a mac need rebuilding to improve speed? I thought that was something you only had to do to spyware infested windows pc run by users who have no clue wtf they are doing.
I find it hilarious when I speak to people who are...
Hey, hoping this will be an easy one for someone. I'm being a bit dense this morning.
I remeber there used to be a way where you could get XP to authenticate seamlessly between two machines without a domain by sticking them in the same workgroup and creating identical user accounts on each...
Yeah I'm starting to get the feeling it might be to do with media functions. I have an old cherry style media keyboard.
I'll have a play around later.
cheers anyway. :D
