    Mountain Biking

The Status has a very similar component setup to my Turbo Levo (only real difference aside from the ebike stuff is GX vs NX drivetrain) and that's a very competent bike. I personally ended up swapping out the Code R brakes after cooking them in Scotland over a weekend but I'm fairly heavy and...

    *** Car Wash / Valet / Detailing Thread ***

Collected today, drab overcast lighting doesn't do it justice like in person, looks better than new.

After some opinions - I have both a Stumpjumper Evo and a Nukeproof Scout frame and I plan to use the bike as a bit of a fitness/xc/light trail bike to compliment my Turbo Levo and road bike when I just want to go on a chilled ride but off road. Which one would you use? I'm aware the stumpy will...

    Platypus' Beginners Guide to Running

Started my running journey a couple months or so ago, was part way through a 5k training plan when I had an itch to just go try it. Managed 32 minutes which I was mega happy with, working now to get it below 30 by the end of April and also working towards a 10k race in September. Been a long...

    *** Car Wash / Valet / Detailing Thread ***

Got my car going for a correction and ceramic coating next week - any recommendations on simple top up products to use at home to keep it working well? Find myself with a real lack of free time most weekends so a quick and easy solution is my preferred, have used stuff like auto glym polar seal...

    What watch do you wear?

Any recommendations on decent nato and leather strap suppliers? Amazon specials don’t feel like they’re cutting it

    What watch do you wear?

New watch day today - Christopher Ward C63 GMT. Do like it, fit is lovely and it works well on a variety of straps so should be plenty versatile.

https://winstanleysbikes.co.uk/magura-mt-trail-sport-hydraulic-disc-brake-set Something like this is where I'd be looking, also consider swapping the front rotor our for a 200/203mm if you're still feeling its lacking.

*** The Official iPhone 15 thread (it has USB-C and everything!) ***

So ended up cancelling my 15PM order - figured I might when ordering but wanted to get in the queue as it were. Sticking with the 13 for another year at least, more I thought about it the more it felt like marginal upgrades for a not so marginal cost

*** The Official iPhone 15 thread (it has USB-C and everything!) ***

Ordered a pro max but half tempted to swap to a normal pro - got a 13 max on launch as I was using it for a lot of media consumption when travelling, less so these days so the smaller size is tempting. Sure I’ll miss the screen real estate though!

Debating an order for a 256 pro max in blue to replace my equivalent 13 pro max, done the pre approval for finance but honestly unsure if I’ll bother. Always been on a 1-2 year upgrade cycle but doesn’t feel like there’s big leaps nowadays like there used to be.

    Mountain Biking

100kg rider kitted up in full pads and a 25kg e-bike need some proper stopping power  In fairness I had 200mm rotors on the rear before and they were fine on all but the steepest stuff, cooked them in a day at Golfie so decided to whack bigger (and thicker) rotors on to handle the heat...

Siliconslave's how to make espresso thread

So our delonghi bean to cup machine seems to not be long more for this world and looking at getting something a bit nicer. Would like a steamer for milk but beyond that, any guidance on what to look at? Seen the Sage Barista Express at what seems a reasonable price which includes a built in...

Chain recommendation for garage use ?

If it's for the garage, look up motorbike chains, you'll get up to 22mm thick links if you wanted to go that far. Generally big hefty lumps so not something to be carrying about.

    Shed security options for bikes

With insurance, worth also checking the requirements of the policy. For instance mine requires a bike be locked with a sold secure gold lock to an immovable object, the shed door have no exposed screws for bolts or hinges and that if a padlock is used with a hasp and stable it has to be fully...

220/200, planning on upping the back to 220 as well. Seems a common complaint from owners that the stock Code R brakes and sram rotors aren’t the best

Away this weekend in the Tweed Valley, just had a day at Golfie and my god it’s something special. Beyond anything I’d ridden before and absolutely at the limit of my abilities but mega fun. Absolutely cooked my rear brake disk now mind, think it’s about time to replace the SRAM codes with some...

    Fuji X Series

See I was debating against the X-T30II but I think with also wanting to dabble into video as well, the XS10 was a bit more suited with little things like IBIS. The XS20 is a bit more than I want to spend so have ordered an XS10 “vlogger” kit for £900 including the 15-45, a mic that I may or may...
