There was at least one other place that had stock and was selling way over RRP (you had to call them to order). They wanted £589 for a 5900X and ~£850 (don't remember the exact price) for 5950X.
Seems true to be honest because I have another order in elsewhere for RRP because I also needed one for my wife and I managed to complete that one at 14:10 but it's not shipped.
I didn't manage to get my order through for 5900X with OcUK until 14:45 (that's the time on my order confirmation email) due to the site issues, but apparently mine has been shipped (email time of 20:49).
Added to cart at 13:56 and was literally unable to checkout due to HTTP 500 errors until 14:45 at which point it was obviously pre-order. Super fun experience. Same thing also happened at a competitor although I at least managed to get my order completed by 14:10 but it had turned into a...
I'm pretty sure they will be allowing all orders regardless of how much stock they have because Gibbo said that they have only a few 5950X so if you order one and don't get one allocated you will be waiting 4-6 weeks for stock replenishment, which implies orders are not tied to the actual stock...
Yeah building new rigs for both the wife and I so needed two and the price was too good to pass up - they are eligible for £55 cashback each as well (although probably only once as I did them in a single order!)
They can still be had for £399 and £55 cashback though.
I picked up an ASUS ROG Crosshair VIII Hero (WI-FI), intending to run with 5900X. I think I might have got them at a misprice or something, I picked two up for £368 each on Monday.
Thanks for this @Gibbo. Just wanted to ask, will there be any restrictions? I am trying to pick up a 5900X for both the wife and I and I know some other places have one per order restrictions.
The only official source I've seen at all is this PDF from AMD about the game bundle T&Cs. It states the validity period is 5th November 09:00 Eastern Time (14:00 UK time) onwards, which could imply they might be available for sale from that point and would validate what others have seen with...
Interested in this too, are they only offering you Germany? Normally you send it to Preston I think. I always buy EVGA cards for the reason that RMAs are easy and fast.
Kind of this. They can't unilaterally force a paycut on you, it's a contract variation which you would have to agree to, if you make it explicitly clear that you don't agree then the ball is in their court. So it really depends on how aggrieved you feel and how hard you want to push things. If...
Oops yeah, my bad I misread - https://www.samsung.com/semiconductor/minisite/ssd/support/warranty/
Samsung EVO 1TB = 5 years or 600TBW
Samsung QVO 1TB = 3 years or 360TBW
Hmm yeah I've only seen that happen once before and recreating the bootable USB fixed it so that's worth a try. Grab the ISO from the media creation tool and use Rufus if you can.
Assuming you only have your SSD plugged in then all those partitions are on your SSD (they say "Drive 0" so all on the same physical disk). Just delete all of them and select the empty space to install on.
QLC is worse than TLC for longevity, you can tell that from the difference in warranties and write durability. For example the 1TB 860 QVO (QLC) has 3 year warranty with 360TBW (per year), whereas the 1TB 860 EVO which is TLC has 5 years warranty and 600 TWB per year. Doubt you will have any...
