2-3 days in Iceland.. Top things to do/see?

@413x are you planning on hiring a car? If you are then 3 days is a decent amount of time but you'd be limited to the SE area around Keflavik and Reykjavik, depending on time of arrival you could potentially look at Bridge over 2 continents and that peninsula from the airport then towards...

    Buying trees online

I've used https://www.gardeningexpress.co.uk/ recently for some Bay tree's, everything went smoothly and good quality trees compared to the local ones I'd seen at double the price also packed well, if that helps?

Analogue phone line on one - soon to be useless Fibre broadband on the other. I have the same on my house.

Configuring Hue Light and Extractor Fan

Done exactly this with the exact same switch, although my central extractor has a humidity stat it seems to take longer in the winter due to cold attic space, Zigbee switch wired into the manual switch and routine setup on Alexa to run for equal runover to on time, up to 20+20mins, we use this...

What "man jobs" have you done today?

@dlockers I put a Niche in both bathrooms at the wife's request and then she hated how untidy it looked with all the different products, ended up buying a bunch of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B09JWK6SZR/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_6?smid=AQL50GY8VHIWL&th=1 and decanting stuff into them...

    Snowsports 2023/2024

Great stuff appreciate your info @AlexTrickle, Le Plagne seems to be more suited to us at the moment, just had a look at pass prices and they seem really good obviously based on this years prices currently, the Paradiski seems great value for money over just the La Plagne pass but I'm not sure...

    Snowsports 2023/2024

@McGray We stayed in Taninges this year and drove into Les Gets each day, we were between Sameons and Les Gets but Les Gets got recommended for the wife and kids as beginners. @AlexTrickle our current shortlist is Les Arcs, Val-Cennis, La Plagne, Grenoble would have been easier but couldn't get...

    Why is this wall damp?

As @fastwunz said grab an endoscope and take a look inside, you'll likely find that that cavity is a sealed section only to the external vent and not the main wall. Is the cable through the vent causing rain water to track inside and then during humid weather its not able to escape, part of me...

    Why is this wall damp?

The easiest way would probably be to remove the upper trim panel outside, hopefully without damaging it :D Does it get worse in certain weather conditions? for example rain and high winds but not rain only, could be a bit of a wind tunnel down the side of the house and driving rain against the...

    Why is this wall damp?

Not to insult your intelligence @GeX but are your sure there's a vertical cavity in the wall? The external vents look more like suspended floor vents, would be interesting to know your internal floor level compared to the external wall, I can see where your fibre cable enters through the vent...

    Snowsports 2023/2024

I was about to start a Ski thread in the travel forum but a quick search led me here. After a successful family trip this year to Les Gets we've booked flights into Geneva for next February, we miss English half term but have an overlap of 2 French zone holiday dates  we clipped UK...

Swapping hard wired appliance for a socket.

@LewisRaz Easiest route is to change the plate for an unswitched socket https://www.screwfix.com/c/switches-sockets/sockets/cat4540002?switchedunswitched=unswitched Switch above isolates the appliance, will work in the same manner as it currently is just removable and no second switch behind...

What "man jobs" have you done today?

Thanks for the info @Simon42 I've just bought 25litres of Sodium Hypochlorite ready for the spring patio/render wash, would you happen to know or have experience of BAC on red algae? would be nice to use something less "damaging" for that stubborn stuff?
