What are my home media options?

So your suggestion is convert the HTPC hardware to an unraid NAS because its not too bad hardware and then still have the Dell running as a windows machine for steam etc? Thanks for the reddit link, i didnt realise there is a makemkv docker container, which might be handy if I don't have a...

What are my home media options?

Morning All, Years ago (9!) I built a Windows 7 HTPC to host my BR rips and bitstream nicely to my AV receiver, and quite frankly all worked spiffingly. As per my use cases changed and I needed an actual PC for a bit as opposed to HTPC so it got reconfigured into a tower case that I had lying...

    Printing A2 Poster Online

Thanks for the great suggestion - theyre just around the corner from me and print up to 600! Thats probably why people say 300dpi is "best" but this is a print thats very much meant for having a close look.

    Printing A2 Poster Online

Its not a photo, its an image generated from shapefiles/gpx traces/DEM's, thus the resulting image can be made at any size/resolution. I've just found that to get the detail at A2 size, 600dpi is required.

    Printing A2 Poster Online

Morning All I have a map that I have generated in QGIS and want to print it on A2. To get enough definition in the map I need to print it at >600dpi but I have had a couple of people tell me "that 300dpi would look miles better for a poster". Surely this is a load of rubbish, providing a...

    Vegetarian Restaurant Suggestions

Thanks both, I shall have a look. Whilst I feel like a starred restaurant would be able to accommodate a vegetarian, every restaurant (for the most part) that we have been in, the vegetarian side of things is always just that, on the side. I'd like to take her to somewhere where it is front...

    Vegetarian Restaurant Suggestions

Hello It's my partners 30th coming up and I'd like to book in to somewhere worthwhile in London(ish) - could make a weekend of it depending on location. Are there any highly regarded restaurants that would be worth a mention? Can solely vegetarian venues gain Michelin stars? I've always...

    43” 4K Recommendations?

Any recommendations for a cheap 43" 4K? I've got approx. £300 to spend and am currently looking at the Philips 43PUS6754 and Samsung UE43RU7020. I prefer the Philips due to inclusion of DV and the Ambilight feature. Any others I should be looking at?

I was wondering (if not against the rules) that you could participate in this very short survey with regards to the UK environment? Thanks in advance.

    Catalytic converter

The ECU will go closed loop as soon as the pre-cat lambda sensor is up to temperature (they heat themselves to remove all moisture from in/around the sensor). This is in the order of seconds, not minutes in the case of engine coolant temperature. There will be a closed loop area on the...
