im guessing you got a pry bar on it ? really your ment to lower the entire subframe to get the joint out...a lot of people do it using a pry bar but it can put a lot of strain on bushes.

Did mine a couple months ago, very easy dont need any tools to disconnect fuel lines unlike other ones i have done in past. The fuel lines are connected via a plastic clip, youll see one on each side they are both the same. The black plastic has a white 'U' shape clip inside it, push this...

if you still have the original metal valves its worth getting them changed to plastic on your next tyre change if you notice air loss. Both my rears kept loosing air and it was the valves had corroded and lifted slightly. Had plastic ones put in like the fronts already had and have not had any...

Who owns a Mondeo ST220 / ST TDCI?

do you know how easy it is to remove and check? very...no tools required, you pull it off from behind the upper inlet manifold (just behind the top part of the engine), then pull the other end out from the right hand side of engine (you just need to remove the plastic engine cover to get to this...

Have you had the front struts off before ? if not be prepared for some seriously annoying work ahead! Best thing to do is drop the front subframe a bit or youll have a nightmare getting the lower ball joint disconnected from the hub assembly. I researched loads before doing mine, got to a...

if you want, measure from centre of your wheels to the arch ill do same and we could compare difference, i dont think its going to be more than 2cm but you never know. I have to deal with speed bumps on a daily basis and have never hit anything

switched to eibach when my front springs snaps, much better imo doesnt roll as much but maintans good clearance, the eibachs say 30m front 40m rear but thats on a standard mondeo, the st220 is 20mm lower anyway so your only adding a 1 - 2 cm drop. The front doesnt look much difference but the...

Who owns a Mondeo ST220 / ST TDCI?

the most common one is the vacume pipe on the upper inlet manifold, very common for these to split, you can just pull it off to give it a check over. If you look back in this thread its been mentioned many many times, theres diagrams and things to help locate if your unsure where it is.

dont be so obsessed with milage it doesnt always mean anything relevant to the condition of the mechanics. You could have an example with 70k miles thats just been up and down a motorway for 6 years, so has not much gearbox/clutch/suspension component wear, then you could have an example with...

Top it up, thats about 1 - 1.2 litres between min and max iirc then see how it goes as it is possible the garage who serviced it didnt put enough oil in. Mine uses around half a litre every 6 months, but thats because i have a small leak around sump gasket (very common)

Who owns a Mondeo ST220 / ST TDCI?

that is a good idea, probably a lot easier than then method i used :) I did also make sure the filler was not jammed before taking out the lower plug. Filler on mine was very easy to undo, plug not so much, mashed my hex bit.

Who owns a Mondeo ST220 / ST TDCI?

When you do it you'll need a tiny 8mm hex bit I used a 3cm one and it was too long to just slip in as the gearbox is almost flush against the subframe so I had to prize the gearbox a tiny bit with a breaker bar to get the hex bit in the drain plug, bit of a bad design by ford! Unless u have the...
